A few flights, a puddle jumper and a long drive through rain damaged roads away is the small town of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica where my two friends Sheena and Monihan got married and spent an epic week with friends and family. You might remember them from their City Hall, New York photos where they tied the knot officially.
Moni’s sister Aimee Monihan of Tropical Occasions and Santa Teresa Beach Weddings was the mastermind behind the week of festivities. She is a true talent.
Destination Weddings Magazine is on newsstands now and featuring their wedding. The cover is by Elizabeth Messina:
Here are a few of my favorites.
Sheena in her Sari on the evening of their rehearsal dinner.
The crew in saris and kurtas.
On the morning of their wedding, Sheena’s mom found the town church to say some prayers for them.
Tara St. James of the awesome Study New York clothing line doing finishing touches on Sheena’s dress. She reinvented an Alexander McQueen design for Sheena.
Minutes before the ceremony it started to rain.
In an entrance with flare, Monihan ran up the beach and threw his umbrella.
Waiting to walk down the aisle.
The ring bearer, digging the rings out of the sand.
